vakansa
brief
The housing market is challenging to enter, and mobility is deficient. Simultaneously, many elderly citizens of Sweden live in big estates with vacant spaces. Vakansa aims to bridge that gap and help the elders to take advantage of these unoccupied spaces, while helping people find safe housing.
The task was to design a website accessible for the target audience and create an interface that feel safe and professional to navigate, for both landlords and tenants.

challenge
The main target audience are the eldery where trust and skills, regarding technology, vary greatly. The challenge here lies in finding a functional design that guides the user while reassuring that their in safe hands. How do we minimize confusion when using the service? How do we maximse the sensation of security?
process
To better understand the target audience's relationship with technology, I conducted interviews. The gathered data was later boiled down to a persona I could always relate back to throughout the design process.
After extensive flowchart work tailored around the persona, I could begin building the design system necessary. Numerous prototypes were made to be tested and iterated to ease the user journey.

lesson learned
A well structured design system can be life saver. If I'm working on a bigger UX/UI project, I most certainly want to be accompanied by a clever and well organized design system. I can't understate how time efficient it is if done correctly.
